Guide 3: Bypassing Protected Areas, How to Bypass a Zone on Your DSC Security System | ASI

Sometimes business operations require flexibility. Bypassing a zone allows you to arm your system while leaving a specific area intentionally unarmed—such as a loading dock receiving an overnight shipment—while the rest of the offices remain fully protected.

How to Bypass a Zone:

1. Press [*] to enter the function menu.

2. Press [1] OR [*], then enter your [security code].

3. Enter the two-digit number of the zone (e.g., 04) OR use the [< >] keys to locate it.

4. Press [*] to select the zone. A [B] will appear on the display.

5. Press [#] to return to the Ready state and arm your system normally.

(Note: To unbypass a zone manually, repeat the process and press [] to remove the "B". Bypasses also clear automatically the next time the system is disarmed.*)
