Shorter Days, Stronger Security
With the final quarter here, we know facility managers and business owners are busy finishing up 2026 projects and starting to plan for 2027. Now that the days are getting shorter, it’s a good time to make sure your security systems are working their best.
This month, we’re highlighting newer tech, sharing key security tips, and featuring feedback from facilities like yours. You’ll also see some of the hardware we’re using in the field and meet another team member who helps keep your business safe!
October Highlight: Alarm.com Prism Series
Have you seen the Alarm.com Prism series yet? We’re genuinely excited to share these with you. In 2027, it's about what the camera can actually tell you, and how it responds. It’s not about getting a crisp, 24/7 picture anymore—though they definitely do that.
These cameras use smart video analytics to do the work for you. They can tell the difference between a person, a delivery truck, and a stray animal. This lets us set up your system so you only get alerts when you need them. No more false alarms or hours spent reviewing footage because a raccoon walked past the loading dock.
Even better, they offer proactive deterrence (our favorite approach) with two-way audio. If someone lingers where they shouldn't, the camera not only records them; it can deter them before an incident escalates.
Everything connects to the same dashboard you already use for access control and alarms, so you can manage your facility from one place. If you want smarter video surveillance this quarter and into 2027, these cameras are a great choice.

Behind the desk - Ryan Brewer
Behind the Desk is a new series where we ask our employees what they do, share any tips they have, and get their best security advice. That way, you can see what their days are like and get to know the people behind ASI!
This month we sat down with Ryan and asked him a few questions!
Since you know our offerings inside and out, what is one feature of our product/service that you wish more people knew about?
“I really wish more people knew about, or used, GeoDevices with their Intrusion Alarm. Many clients struggle to remember to arm their system, but they fear a Rule like "Arm at 11 pm" would catch them unaware if they happen to be out late. GeoDevices cure that illness. The Rule becomes "If all GeoDevices are Home at 11 p.m., arm the system." No one gets caught unaware. Pair this with a Notification if the alarm isn't set at 11 p.m., so parents get a push notification if the kids aren't in by curfew.”
What is the best piece of advice you would give someone just starting their career in customer service?
“Customer Service is about being calm in someone else's turbulence.”
Can you share a memorable or heartwarming experience you’ve had while helping one of our customers?
“We have quite a few elderly clients, and it's always gratifying to help them learn to use a service or device that ultimately lets them take back a little independence in their lives!”
Highlighting our team members and their stories is always a pleasure. Thank you, Ryan, for sharing your insights with us.
What are our techs up to? -
Our technicians have been hard at work to ensure your facilities have the best available tools. Here’s a quick update on the latest hardware and system installations they’ve done!
Josh, our head technician, recently visited Grede to service one of their security turnstiles. Why install a turnstile if you already have security cameras? Cameras show what happened after the fact, but a turnstile blocks unauthorized entry before it happens.
This gate works with the building’s smart access system. When you scan a valid badge, the gate unlocks for one turn and then locks again. This means no one can sneak in behind you, and only approved people are on the manufacturing floor.
Big thanks to our technician, Chris, for this super-clean install!
Have you wondered how we install security cameras on far-off light poles or gates without digging big trenches through parking lots? The answer is this weatherproof box!
Chris set up a network switch powered by a "Nano." The Nano works as a wireless bridge, sending a fast network connection from the main building right to this box. The switch then uses that signal to power the cameras.
Aren't these some cool-looking access control modules that Josh was wiring the other day?
We definitely think so!
A word from our customers-
